The online course “First Aid ‘Professional'” from “Dein gesunder Hund” is aimed at dog owners who want to act safely and effectively in emergency situations. The course is divided into seven modules and offers comprehensive knowledge on the following topics:

• Basic knowledge: Preparation for emergencies through playful training of important actions and situations in everyday life.
• Emergency notification: Structured and calm action in an emergency, including the provision of an emergency card with all relevant data.
• First aid kits: Compilation of suitable first aid kits for various situations, whether at home, in the car or on the road.
• Measure vital parameters: Determining and checking the dog’s basic values, such as temperature, respiratory rate and pulse, in order to detect discrepancies and illnesses in good time.
• Emergency measures: Learning life-saving measures such as the recovery position, application of a mouth sling, restraint and safe transportation of the dog.
• Various emergency situations: Dealing with common emergencies, including shock, cardiovascular problems, resuscitation, poisoning, wound care, heat stroke and more.
• Important knowledge: Supplementary knowledge beyond the first aid course, available in a constantly expanding “library”.

The course is fully mobile-optimized and allows participants to complete the modules at their own pace within four weeks. In addition, the most important content is available for download, and a voluntary WhatsApp group offers space for exchange and questions.
