The Tierschutzzentrum Duisburg e.V. – Städtisches Tierheim Duisburg is an important institution in the heart of the Ruhr area dedicated to the welfare of animals. Covering an area of 5800 m², the shelter offers space for up to 140 dogs, 200 cats and over 100 small animals. It has been run by the Tierschutzzentrum Duisburg e.V. since February 2002.
Opening hours:
Initial consultations: Sundays from 13:00 to 16:00
Waffles are also available during this time.
Animal placement/viewing: Only possible after making an appointment and filling out an interest form.
Availability by telephone:
Monday to Friday: 10:00 to 16:00
Saturday, Sunday, public holiday: 10:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 17:00
Animal placement: The animal shelter has over 200 animals in placement. Interested parties are asked to fill out a questionnaire and make an appointment to view the animals.
Donations and support: The animal shelter is dependent on donations and is happy to receive donations in kind, money or time. Donations can be dropped off in front of the shelter gate.
