Dog parks in Spain: fun in the countryside

Dog parks in Spain: If you can’t stalk through the woods and fields, dog parks are a good alternative. I used to love walking through nature, through woods and fields with my boss and owner. And shall I tell you something? I miss that. There is no classic forest here on the Costa Blanca, you have to go to the north of Spain. But in fall and winter I have the beaches to romp on. And in summer it’s too hot for everything anyway :).

Dog parks in Spain, not just in the big cities

As there is a lack of woods and meadows in the south, the Spanish have set up their own dog parks. These are particularly helpful for us four-legged friends in cities, as we can not only play and sniff around, but also meet friends and make new ones. Mediterranean hiking trails are usually quite stony and therefore not suitable for me with my little paws.

Valencia:The Parque de Cabecera is a large park in Valencia with a special dog area. There is also the Jardines del Real, known as the “Jardines de Viveros”, which has a dog area, and the Jardín del Turia with a sports area for dogs. You can find more parks here and

Seville: The Parque de María Luisa is a large park in Seville with designated areas for dogs. There is also the
Parque de los Príncipes
which has a dog park.

Malaga:
The Parque del Oeste
is a popular park in Malaga and also has a special area for dogs. There is also the
Parque de Huelin
which is known as the dog park.

Elche
Parque de Elche
in Elche is one of the largest parks on the Costa Blanca and has a special area for dogs. There are paths and green areas where dogs can let off steam.

Alicante: The Parque de Canalejas in Alicante is a large park that also has a special dog area. It offers plenty of space for playing and romping around. The Parque Lo Morant in Alicante is another park that has a dog area. There are green spaces, paths and even a small pond area where we four-legged friends can splash around.

Dénia:The Parque les Bassetes in Dénia is a beautiful park that also has dog areas and a restaurant that also allows dogs.

In La Pedrera there is a fenced-in dog park which at least gives us four-legged friends the opportunity to meet colleagues. But it’s not really suitable for running around in the countryside.

Javea: The Parc Canino in Javea is specially designed for dogs. There are fenced areas for safe play.
